Does this appointment apply to me?

Book this appointment if you are starting ADHD care, or if you were diagnosed at another clinic, provider, or facility. A controlled substance can be considered only after the three appointments.

If it has been a year or more since your last completed appointment with Circle Medical, book this appointment too. It confirms your current health information and whether anything has changed in the past year. Symptoms, other medical conditions, and which treatments may fit can change over that time. The full gap rules, including which appointments count, are in Which ADHD appointment to book.

What should I do before the appointment?

Prepare the same way you would for any first video appointment. Have a government ID, a payment method, your insurance card if you use insurance, your phone number and home address, an emergency contact, and a preferred pharmacy on your account. What to have nearby is in How to prepare for your first video appointment.

Check in on the mobile app or web portal before you join. Check-in asks for anything still missing. The steps are in How to check in and join your appointment.

You will also be asked to complete health questions about symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, and depression. Complete them before the appointment if you can. You can still join if they are not finished.

It is also helpful to have your height, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate ready. Your provider uses these as part of the evaluation. How to enter them is in How to share your vitals.

What happens during the appointment?

This is a video appointment. Your provider will:

  • Talk with you about the concerns that brought you in and the symptoms you are experiencing

  • Review your questionnaire responses and relevant health history

  • Ask about any prior ADHD diagnosis or treatment

  • Discuss health and safety factors that matter for an ADHD evaluation

  • Review your height, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate, if you have them ready

You do not receive an ADHD diagnosis or a controlled substance prescription at this appointment.

What do I book next?

If your provider thinks your symptoms may be ADHD, book an ADHD Comprehensive health assessment. Appointments 2 and 3 are in How the ADHD diagnostic process works.

If your provider thinks something else may be causing your symptoms, they tell you the next step. That can be a different appointment or more testing.

I have records from another clinic

You can share them before the appointment. You do not need them in order to join. See How to share outside medical records with your Circle Medical provider.

Records from another clinic are helpful for your provider. A diagnosis from another clinic is not transferred in. Your provider uses this appointment, along with any records you share, to make sure your care plan is accurate.
