How to prepare for your first video appointment

What to have ready on your account before your first video appointment, and what to keep nearby for the visit.

This article covers what to have ready before your first video appointment.

Before your appointment

Have these ready on your account. Check-in asks for anything still missing. See How to check in and join your appointment.

  • Government ID

  • Payment method

  • Insurance card, if you are using insurance

  • Phone number and home address

  • Emergency contact

  • Preferred pharmacy

Some appointment types also include short questionnaires during check-in.

Where you will be

You need to be in the United States, in a state where your provider is licensed. If you will be somewhere else, cancel or reschedule. See Your location for video appointments.

What to have nearby

Your provider may ask for these during the visit:

  • Previous medical records

  • Medications, with the dose and instructions

  • Allergies, including medication or ingredient allergies

  • Names and contact details for previous doctors, offices, or clinics

If you already have records, upload them from the Health tab on the mobile app or web portal. See How to share medical records with your Circle Medical provider.

Need to cancel or reschedule?

If you need to change the time, see How to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
