After you are an established ADHD patient, ongoing ADHD care is an ADHD Follow-up appointment. This article covers how often to book one, and what to do if your usual provider is unavailable.

After the three diagnostic appointments, ADHD Follow-up appointments are every 2 weeks until your provider finds you are stable on your treatment plan. Once you are stable, they are every 30 days.

A controlled substance prescription, such as Adderall, Vyvanse, or Ritalin, is not guaranteed. Your provider decides. Refill steps are in Requesting medication refills.

Book with the provider who has been managing your ADHD care, when you can. You can book an ADHD Follow-up with another provider if you need to, although we recommend continuing care with the same provider when possible.

If your provider is unavailable, you can book an ADHD Follow-up with another provider, and tell them your usual provider was unavailable.

A new provider can see your records. Changing providers does not by itself mean you restart the diagnostic process. Each provider makes their own decision, and the new provider may ask for another appointment before prescribing.
