You can delete your Circle Medical account yourself from the mobile app or web portal. Deleting your account is permanent and can't be undone. We keep a copy of your medical records for 7 years so they are available for your future care with other providers.
Before you delete your account
Two things stop a deletion. Take care of them first and the deletion will go through.
Upcoming appointments. Cancel any appointment you have scheduled. See How to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Unpaid appointments. Pay any outstanding balance. If an insurance claim for a past appointment is still being processed, you'll be able to delete your account once that claim is finished and the appointment is paid in full. See Downloading your invoices.
Care still in progress. An open prescription, lab, or referral does not stop you from deleting your account, but we recommend waiting until it is finished. After you delete, you cannot follow that care in the mobile app or web portal. Wait if you have a prescription or refill that has not reached your pharmacy, lab work you are still waiting on, or a referral that has not been sent.
Delete your account on the mobile app
Open the mobile app and log in.
Tap your profile icon in the corner of the home screen.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen. Under Logout, tap Delete account next to "No longer a patient?"
Follow the prompts and confirm. You're signed out once your account is deleted.
Delete your account on the web portal
Log in to the web portal.
Click your profile icon in the top right corner and select My account.
Scroll to Account management at the bottom of the page and click Delete account.
If you'd like, tell us why you're leaving. This is optional.
Click Delete my account to confirm. You'll see a confirmation screen and be signed out.
What happens to your medical records
Deleting your account removes your access to the mobile app and web portal. It does not delete your medical records. We keep a copy for 7 years so they can be shared with a future provider if you need them. For details, see our privacy policy.
We recommend requesting a copy of your medical record before you delete your account. If you've already deleted your account, you can get in touch with us to get your prior medical records. See How to request your medical records.
Reestablishing care after deleting your account
You can sign up again with the same email after you delete your account. That creates a new Circle Medical account. It does not restore the deleted one.
Your previous appointments, messages, and medical records stay on the deleted account. They do not move to the new one. You will set a new password. You can enter the same phone number, legal name, and date of birth on the new account.
If you want care at Circle Medical again, book a new appointment and complete account setup, including ID verification, as a new patient.
If you can't delete your account
If deletion is blocked, the screen tells you why.
"You have an upcoming appointment": cancel the appointment, then try again.
"Unprocessed claims or an outstanding balance": pay the balance, or wait for insurance to finish processing the claim, then try again. The support team can tell you which appointment is holding things up.
If you've done both and still can't delete your account, get in touch with support via email or chat.
