Isn't the Annual Wellness Exam Free?

Understand what's covered by insurance in the Annual Wellness Exam.

Updated yesterday

Most insurance plans cover one Annual Wellness Exam (AWE) each year.

Under the Affordable Care Act, insurance companies are required to cover many preventive health services without a copay. However, we recommend checking with your insurance before booking your appointment.

What To Expect At Your Annual Wellness Exam

This 30-minute preventive visit gives you and your provider time to:

  • Review your health history

  • Talk through any concerns

  • Create a personalized care plan

  • Order any necessary screenings or lab tests

  • Update your vaccinations

Which Visit Type Is Right for You?

On our platform, you can complete your Annual Wellness Exam (sometimes called an annual physical) in one of two ways. Choose the option that works best for you:

  1. Video Visit: Get care from the comfort of your own home.

  2. In-Person Visit: Stop by one of our clinic locations.

If your video visit requires measurements like blood pressure, you can get those done at your local pharmacy.

If Your Annual Wellness Exam Isn't Covered

Call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card. This is typically the fastest way to get personalized information about your coverage, including co-pays, deductibles, and in-network status.
