Frequently asked questions (FAQs) about temporary IDs

What you need to know about adding a temporary ID to your Circle Medical account.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

To ensure the continuity of your care, we require a valid, government-issued photo ID to be on your account. If your current ID expires, start a chat with our Care Team on the Circle Medical mobile app or web portal to upload your temporary ID.

Can I join my appointment with a temporary ID?

Whether you can use a temporary ID to join your appointment depends on if you are a new or returning patient:

  • New patients: You must have an official, government-issued ID on your account to join your first appointment. Temporary IDs are not accepted for initial visits.

  • Returning patients: You can join with a temporary ID if it has been added to your chart, and you have already established care with Circle Medical. Important note: your provider may still request to reschedule your appointment for once your official ID arrives.

Can I refill my prescription with a temporary ID?

Your provider will review your temporary ID and medical records before issuing a prescription. Your provider may need to delay an appointment until your official ID is on file.

How long can I use a temporary ID?

Your temporary ID is valid for one appointment. To help ensure your future appointments proceed smoothly, upload your official ID as soon as you receive it.

What should I do when my official ID arrives?

Once you receive your official ID, start a chat with our Care Team. A Patient Care Advocate will remove the temporary ID from your profile so that you can upload your official ID. Use our step-by-step guide on how to upload your ID (link) quickly and easily.
