Confirming your location for video appointments

Manage your appointments and provider availability while traveling or moving between states.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

When do I need to confirm my physical location?

When you check in for your video appointment, you’ll be asked to confirm which state you are physically located in.

  • Confirming your current location helps to ensure a smooth video appointment.

Why do I have to confirm my physical location?

Providers are licensed in specific states.

To remain compliant with federal and state laws, patients must be currently located in a state where their healthcare provider is licensed to practice.

This is a standard and proactive step for all virtual healthcare visits, and helps ensure a seamless care experience.

Why am I not seeing any available appointments?

If you don’t see any available providers, it’s typically due to one of the following reasons:

  • Provider availability: All providers licensed to practice in your state may be fully booked at this time.

  • State coverage: Circle Medical may not yet be established in the state where you are currently located.

  • Insurance network: There may be limited in-network availability with your insurance plan.

What if I’m travelling to a different state?

If you are traveling or temporarily outside the state you live in, please update your address in the Circle Medical mobile app or web portal to reflect your current physical location.

This step ensures that when you book an appointment, you'll see providers who are licensed in that specific state.

What if I’m travelling outside of the U.S.?

Circle Medical providers are licensed to offer care in the United States. In order to attend an appointment with a Circle Medical provider, you must be located in the United States.

What if I already have an appointment booked?

If you already have an appointment booked but are now in a different state or country, you can:

  1. Cancel

  2. Reschedule
