Lost or Stolen Medications

Options for reporting misplaced or stolen medications.

Updated over 3 months ago

Losing your medication or having it stolen is a stressful experience. In this article, we'll explain what to do if you've lost or had your medication stolen.

Non-Controlled Medications

For non-controlled medications, such as antibiotics or blood pressure medications, you can contact your care team via chat to explain your situation.

A member of the clinical team will review your request and may ask some questions about your medication before forwarding it to your provider for review. Depending on your specific situation, your provider may request an appointment to discuss your needs further.

Controlled Substances

Controlled substances, such as stimulants or some gender-affirming hormone replacements, have a higher potential for abuse and dependence. As a result, obtaining a new prescription for these medications can be more challenging. At Circle Medical, we meet and exceed all necessary requirements to ensure your safety and wellbeing.

Per the controlled substance agreement, there are limited options for replacing a lost or stolen medication, and an appointment is required to discuss the situation with your provider. To schedule an appointment to review your situation, you must book an appointment in the mobile app. Tap “Book an Appointment” and select "Video Appointment" or "Standard Appointment" if you'd like to be seen in person. In the reason for visit field, enter "Lost (or Stolen) Medication.”

✅ Keeping Medication Safe

  • Keep your prescription in a secure location, such as a locked cabinet or drawer.

  • Don't share your medication with others.

  • Keep track of your medication - take note of any discrepancies or missing doses.

  • Dispose of any unused medication properly.
