Updated over 3 weeks ago

Welcome to the world of video appointments—where convenience meets safety, and you can get high-quality care from our providers right from the comfort of your home.

In this guide, we'll walk you through how to prepare, what to expect, and the types of care you can access through our video appointments.

What should I do to prepare?

To ensure a smooth video appointment experience, follow these simple steps:

  • Check with your insurance provider for coverage.

  • Verify your ID in the Circle Medical app or on our web portal.

  • Select your preferred pharmacy.

  • Add a payment method.

  • Be ready 5 minutes before your appointment starts.

How much time should I set aside?

You'll receive a gentle reminder 10 minutes before your appointment. This is typically the time to find a cozy, private spot for your virtual consultation. You can join on our mobile app or via our web portal.

Standard visits are around 20 minutes, while wellness exams last about 30 minutes—just enough time for a thorough check-up and chat with your provider.

What types of care can I receive over video?

Depending on your needs, you can choose from a variety of appointment types, including:

  • Standard Video appointments for common illnesses and injuries.

  • Video Wellness Exams for health goal discussions and personalized health plans.

  • COVID-19 Test Video Assessments for discussing testing and ordering an in-person or mail-in COVID test.

  • Anxiety and Depression Assessments for discussing depression or anxiety symptoms or transferring care.

  • PrEP Intake Appointments for patients interested in learning more about PrEP for HIV prevention, beginning PrEP, or transferring existing care.

  • Gender-Affirming Hormone Consultations for those interested in learning more about gender-affirming care, beginning hormone replacement therapy, or transferring existing care to our practice.

  • Sleep Appointments for those interested in insomnia or sleep issue evaluations. This is primarily for patients who have trouble falling asleep and/or staying asleep.

How do labs work with video appointments?

Conveniently access bloodwork and testing services from anywhere—even if you're not located near a Circle Medical clinic. During your virtual appointment, your provider may order any necessary labs or tests, which you’ll complete at a partner lab after the visit. Once your lab test results are ready, they will be automatically sent to us, and your provider will share the results with you via Chat in the mobile app.

What labs do you work with?

We send lab orders (known as "requisitions") to LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics, who offer a combined 10,000 convenient locations nationwide. If you have insurance you expect to use, please contact your insurance provider to make sure your chosen laboratory provider is in-network before completing labs.
