Controlled substances are medications subject to strict regulations on how they can be prescribed to patients. These regulations ensure that we provide appropriate care to our patients. Which types of providers are available for appointments?

At Circle Medical, our patients have access to a diverse team of licensed healthcare professionals:

  • MD/DO (Medical Doctors): Fully licensed physicians.

  • NP: Nurse Practitioners are advanced practice registered nurses.

  • PA: Physicians Assistants are highly trained medical professionals who work closely with physicians.

  • PMHNP: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners specialized in mental health care.

Who can prescribe controlled substances in my state?

Each state has specific requirements when it comes to which type of provider can prescribe controlled substances, so it’s important to be mindful of the type of provider you choose to book your appointment with.

Below is a list of all states where Circle Medical is authorized to prescribe controlled substances, along with the qualified providers in each state to do so. Please keep in mind that Circle Medical does not currently prescribe controlled substances in every state, and that controlled substances are not prescribed at your first appointment with Circle Medical.
