Circle Medical approaches ADHD care comprehensively, meaning we evaluate your overall health to thoroughly assess the cause of your symptoms.
To maintain the highest standard of clinical accuracy, all new patients (including those previously diagnosed with ADHD at an external facility) must complete our 3-visit diagnostic process before any controlled substance medications can be considered if deemed necessary by your provider.
Important notes:
This 3-visit diagnostic process only applies to new patients seeking an ADHD evaluation after June 1st 2026.
If you’ve already been diagnosed with ADHD by Circle Medical, you’re an established ADHD patient. Your current care plan will remain unchanged, and you don’t need to restart this process unless deemed necessary by your provider.
Why get ADHD treatment with Circle Medical?
Circle Medical offers a straightforward ADHD treatment process accepted by most major insurances. Our providers approach ADHD care holistically in order to design a safe, personalized care plan, without requiring a separate annual physical exam to begin your treatment.
An outline of 3-visit ADHD diagnostic process
Your 3-visit ADHD diagnostic process happens over three focused video appointments to ensure you receive a safe, accurate, and tailored care plan.
Important note: These three appointments cannot be skipped, replaced with other appointment types, or equated with previous external facility records.
Appointment 1: ADHD Initial intake appointment
Your first appointment will be the ADHD Initial intake appointment. Once booked, you’ll be sent three pre-visit questionnaires via your Secure Care Inbox (SCI) to be completed before the start of this visit. These questionnaires allow your provider to review your self reported symptoms of ADHD and overall mental wellbeing.
During this 30-minute appointment, your provider will review your concerns, questionnaires, and health history to begin identifying the cause of your symptoms.
Appointment 2: ADHD Comprehensive health assessment
Your second appointment will be the 30-minute ADHD Comprehensive health assessment (CHA). During this visit, your provider will perform a deeper evaluation to rule out other medical conditions that could be causing your symptoms and assess key factors like sleep, heart health, vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, height, and weight), and may order labs or blood work if needed.
In this appointment, your provider will give you a brief overview of potential treatment plans, including prescription medications or lifestyle changes if appropriate.
Appointment 3: ADHD Diagnosis and treatment
The third ADHD Diagnosis and treatment appointment is a focused 15-minute visit in which your provider will confirm whether ADHD is the right diagnosis for you. Here you will discuss your next steps, including available treatment options and their associated risks and benefits. Should prescription medication be deemed necessary to your care, your provider will prescribe you an initial 14 day supply.
New Jersey patients: Your third appointment will be in-person. Please book the 'In-person ADHD diagnosis & treatment' appointment to complete your ADHD intake process.
Quick note: If lab work was previously ordered, your provider will typically review these results with you during this appointment as well as a second review of your vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, height, and weight).
Follow up appointments: ADHD Follow-up
At first, your initial ADHD Follow-up appointments will occur every 2 weeks until your provider has noted you to be stable on your treatment plan. Once stable, your 15-minute follow-ups will occur every 30 days to ensure that the current treatment plan remains compatible with your health needs.

Important program boundaries and reminders
Circle Medical’s priority is to provide you with clinically credible, comprehensive primary care that supports your long-term wellness. Our practice is specialized to support ADHD care that can be managed within a primary care environment.
To ensure you receive the safest and most effective care, certain complex health conditions such as bipolar disorder, psychosis, or schizophrenia, need to be managed in a more specialized psychiatric setting. If your provider determines during your evaluation that your needs require this type of specialized care, your Care Team can support you with external referral resources.
