Booking an ADHD Follow-up appointment

Learn about how often you need to have a follow-up appointment for ADHD care and your options when booking.

An essential part of ADHD care at Circle Medical includes follow-up appointments to ensure that your care plan continues to meet your specific health needs.

Important note for New Jersey patients: Due to state regulations, your ADHD care journey requires a specific appointment sequence to include an in-person visit as part of the intake process.

How often should I have an ADHD Follow-up appointment?

After you’ve completed the 3-visit diagnostic process, you’ll initially have your ADHD Follow-up appointments every 2 weeks until your provider finds you are stable on your treatment plan.

Once stable, you’ll have an ADHD Follow-up appointment every 30 days to ensure that your current treatment plan continues to be effective and to discuss controlled substance prescription refills.

Important note: Controlled substance prescriptions, such as Adderall, Vyvanse, and Ritalin, are not guaranteed, as they are subject to your provider's clinical judgment.

Can I book an ADHD Follow-up appointment with any provider?

To help avoid interruptions to your care, it’s best to book with your PCP, or the provider you have been seeing for ADHD treatment. If needed, you can book an ADHD Follow-up appointment with another provider.

If your PCP is out-of-network or unavailable, you’ll have two options:

Switch providers: Book an ADHD Follow-up with another in-network provider and let the provider know your PCP was unavailable.

Self-pay: Continue seeing your PCP for ADHD follow-up appointments by switching to self-pay. An ADHD Follow-up appointment is $120 at the self-pay rate.

Important notes:

  • Medical records: If you switch providers, the new provider will have access to your medical records, so you don't have to start the process over. However, please note that each provider makes their own clinical decision, and another appointment may be required before medication is prescribed.

  • State regulations: Be sure to double check your state's requirements to make sure you're booking with a provider who is eligible to manage your care.

Can I always be seen virtually?

Check your state-specific requirements to learn if you need to be seen in person for medication management. Some states require in-person appointments to manage controlled substance prescriptions like Adderall, Vyvanse, and Ritalin.

What if I haven't started ADHD treatment yet?

If you have not yet established ADHD care with Circle Medical, please book an ‘ADHD Initial intake appointment' to discuss your needs and begin the assessment process virtually. Even if previously diagnosed with ADHD from an external facility, you’ll need to complete our 3-visit diagnostic process before any controlled substance medications can be considered and deemed necessary by your provider
