CDC Guidance on COVID-19 Vaccines
We follow CDC guidelines on COVID-19 vaccine eligibility.
Getting a COVID-19 vaccine 2 months after you have recovered from COVID-19 infection provides added protection.
People who are moderately or severely immunocompromised have different recommendations for COVID-19 vaccines.
What to expect
Appointments are booked on the Circle Medical app, or via our website. Look for "COVID-19 Vaccination." We currently administer vaccines at our San Francisco flagship location. Due to limited on-site lab staffing, we do not accept walk-ins.
Before your appointment, ensure your account is up-to-date and your insurance is correctly entered, if applicable. Make sure you bring any prior COVID-19 vaccine card so that we may update it for you.
When it's time for your appointment, it's best to arrive 10 minutes early. You'll check in with our friendly front desk staff and confirm some information. Help yourself to water or tea in our living room. Then, our lab staff will welcome you to the laboratory space where they'll go over information about the vaccine and administer the injection. You will be observed for 15 minutes for any interactions post-injection to ensure your safety -- and that's it!
Common questions
Can I get another vaccine at the same time as my COVID-19 booster or vaccine?
Yes, just let our front desk staff know!
Please note, the CDC recommends that patients, particularly adolescent or young adult males, consider waiting 4 weeks after an mpox (previously monkeypox) vaccination before receiving a COVID-19 vaccine due to the observed risk for myocarditis and/or pericarditis. (source)
Are there any side effects from the vaccine?
Yes, as with any vaccine, there are potential side effects. Learn more about common side effects on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s website, here. Learn more about vaccine safety on the World Health Organization (WHO)'s website, here.
Do I have to choose the same manufacturer (Moderna/Pfizer) for my booster(s)?
No, it is okay to receive a heterologous vaccine administration, meaning change the manufacturer of the COVID-19 vaccine, following completion of a primary vaccine series. Eligibility requirements and dosing intervals remain the same regardless of which booster dose is selected. (source)
Can I get an updated COVID-19 vaccine card?
Absolutely, we can provide you an updated card with your new vaccine once administered.
