Common Video Appointment Tech Issues

Encountering a common tech issue? Here are a few quick tips to get things working.

Updated this week

Circle Medical utilizes Zoom to securely host your virtual appointments. A known bug in Zoom's software can occasionally cause the video window to be black, especially if the background is blurred or filtered.

If your screen is black, your provider won't be able to see you.

Try these tips, starting with the easiest one:

Turn off Background Effects:

  • Disable background blur (This is the most frequent cause).

  • Turn off any virtual backgrounds or video filters.

Refresh Your Session:

  • Exit the appointment and immediately re-join to reset the video conferencing capability.

Restart the App:

  • Try closing the app completely and then re-opening it to force a full reset of the video stream.
