Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)
We can provide PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) treatment over video appointment.
PrEP is an HIV prevention method where HIV negative individuals at high risk of HIV exposure take antiretroviral medication to reduce their risk of becoming infected. It is a very effective HIV prevention treatment, with a 99% estimated level of protection for people who take 7 PrEP pills per week. Most health insurance plans cover PrEP.
If you are a candidate for PrEP, your provider will order your initial set of labs which can be done at a laboratory near you. Once results have been reviewed, a 90-day prescription for PrEP will be sent to your preferred pharmacy. Once on PrEP, you will need a follow-up video appointment and STI screening labs once every 3 months.
If you are interested in PrEP, book a video appointment.
If you are insured with a healthcare insurance that we accept, your video visit will have a small copay ($25 on average per visit).
If you are not insured or if you are insured with a healthcare insurance company that we don't accept, your video visit will cost $100. To see if we accept your healthcare insurance, book a video appointment and you will be prompted to enter in your insurance information if you have it.
